Welcome to Year 2!

This is where you will find out all the information about what we will be learning this term. There is so much to look forward to this year and we can’t wait to share it together!

We are really excited to be working with Chester Zoo this half term building on our experience with Animal Encounters to learn about animal habitats and conservation.

We have also planned a visit to Lark Hill Place in Salford to support our History Learning about Life in England when Queen Victoria was on the throne.

In addition, we are excited about our theatre trip to watch an adaptation of ‘Lost and Found’ by Oliver Jeffers to enhance our love of reading and writing!

Remember it is really important to come to school every day and on time! We line up in the playground by the coloured cones at 8.45am, ready to start our learning journey!

PE

Both 2A and 2B have PE on Tuesdays-ALL children need a white top and black shorts/joggers and black pumps or trainers. Earrings should not be worn and long hair should be tied back.

 Homework

Your child has a red homework book. Homework will be given out on a Monday to be returned on a Friday. Please help your child to complete tasks.

Please listen to your child read at least 4 times a week and record this in the home school diary.

Please encourage your child to play Times Tables Rock Stars 5 times a week to improve their Rock Star Status and go on Spelling Shed to improve their spelling!
